Chimacum Ridge Community Forest is a potential community forest located in Jefferson County, on the Eastern side of Washington’s Olympic Peninsula. The Chimacum Ridge property covers 853 acres of mixed use forest. With the aim of official purchase by December of 2023, Jefferson Land Trust continues to develop a community based management plan for the future community forest. Through continued collaboration with community members, regional partners, elected officials,  and local residents, Jefferson Land Trust designed a Strategic Vision Framework that is guiding the creation of this community forest.

Nestled between Center and Beaver Valleys in the Chimacum Watershed, Chimacum Ridge is a vital source of healthy water for migratory salmon, healthy forest for community access, and forested wetland habitat for vulnerable species. Chimacum Ridge Community Forest will be a part of over 2,000 acres of protected farms, forests, and salmon habitat managed by Jefferson Land Trust. You can learn more about the Chimacum Ridge Forest, and Jefferson Land Trust at their website here.
